Some of our 8th graders graduated from the National Flight Academy on Friday, June 2. The students completed a week long DEPLOYMENT onboard the virtual aircraft carrier, AMBITION. They had a wonderful time participating in exciting missions, meeting new friends, watching the Blue Angels practice, and visiting the National Naval Aviation Museum. All packed into six full and fast-paced days.
\r\nThis special opportunity is only possibly through the generosity of Scott and Amy Stevenson. Their passion and generosity sponsored 12 students to attend AMBITION at the National Flight Academy. The student's had to meet academic and behavioral standards to qualify for the National Flight Academy scholarship.
\r\nOn their final day, the students heard from an inspiring guest speaker, Ms. Heidi McBride, commercial pilot with Ansell & Brown Aviation at Ferguson Airport (82J). She shared some great advice to our graduates; "don't let anyone stop you from pursuing your dreams".
\r\nCongratulations AXPs... we hope some of your passion for STEM was #BuiltByAmbition
