Discovery School's Community Partner, Ochsner Children's has been hosting the "Autism Acceptance Webinar Series" for parents this Spring. This 13-part webinar is presented by The Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development. Professionals will share their knowledge and evidence-based strategies to further support children and encourage positive behavior function. All 13 webinars in the series occur during lunch from 12 pm - 12:45 pm (CST). The remaining webinar dates range from April 18th through May 21st. Mandatory Athletic Informational Meeting for ALL Discovery Schools: There will be mandatory athletic informational meeting to discuss fundraising for ALL Discovery Schools Athletic teams on Thursday, September 21st in the Loyola Cafe at 6:00pm.

The 23-24 Spirit Shirts are now available to order online at the Owl Shop. Due to the large number of orders we are expecting, the turnaround time for processing orders and delivery will be up to 10 school days. The shirts will be delivered to your child at school. Students may wear the current spirit shirt with regular uniform bottoms every Wednesday for the 23-24 school year. The spirit shirts are a fundraiser for the teacher mini-grant program sponsored by the PTO. Thank you for supporting your child's school by purchasing the annual spirit shirt! KDHSA Varsity Cheer Team is holding a Mini Cheer Clinic for students in grades 1st-8th grade. This will take place on the Loyola Campus on Saturday, September 16th from 9am to 1pm. Durng this four hour clinic, students will learn a mini dance, cheer, chant and have a pizza lunch with their new cheer friends! Students who participate in this event will be able to perform at the KDHSA Varsity football game against Patrick Taylor on Friday, September 22nd at 7:00m. The cost of the Mini Cheer Clinic is $25 and includes the required t-shirt for the performance, and pizza, chips and a drink at the clinic.
