Swamp Owl Families, Hooray!!! As of today, 93% of Student-Parent Handbook acknowledgements have been received from families of students enrolled currently. As promised, we will reward all students for the efforts made to accomplish this. There are still some outstanding acknowledgements (7%), so we are going to continue to attempt to get those. Each student on BROD, DJOD, and all KDHSA campuses can wear tennis shoes of choice Thursday, August 29, 2024. Within less than 24 hours, we have had over 1300 responses from parents/guardians across our 5 campuses including the newest program, Discovery Fusion. Way to start the year, Discovery!! Dear Swamp Owl Students and Families, I hope this message finds you doing well. We are writing to inform you of an update to our school uniform policy regarding shoes. Starting immediately, students will be allowed to wear any shoes that are black and/or white. This includes shoes that are entirely black, entirely white, or any combination of black and white. We apologize for the late notice, as we understand this change comes close to the start of the school year. Discovery School's Community Partner, Ochsner Children's has been hosting the "Autism Acceptance Webinar Series" for parents this Spring. This 13-part webinar is presented by The Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development. Professionals will share their knowledge and evidence-based strategies to further support children and encourage positive behavior function.
