Discovery students, faculty, and staff are grieving after the sudden loss of retired Kenner Discovery lower school principal, Lyn Kelly. Ms. Kelly passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2022.
\r\n
Lyn was a founding faculty member of Discovery Schools and served as the principal of Kenner Discovery lower school for 7 years. During Lyn’s tenure as principal, many families will remember her cheerfully greeting students each morning in carpool. And of course, the students and teachers will lovingly remember her enthusiastic “AWESOME Cheer”. Lyn brought over 40 years of experience to Discovery Schools, and we are forever grateful for the years she spent with us. Her motto was, “It takes a big HEART to shape young minds”. Although Lyn retired at the end of the 2020-21 school year, her love for Discovery drew her back to working part-time as the Interim Director of Strategic Development. We will miss the vibrance and energy she brought to Discovery Schools over the last 9 years.
\r\nLyn was truly an individual who made a difference beyond the school walls. We hope everyone will join us in keeping her family in your prayers. As we honor our dear Lyn, remember her favorite saying, “if you choose to be anything……be KIND. Let’s be kind on behalf of Lyn.
